Global Citizens
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 2
At King's Park Primary School we believe that it is essential that our pupils
view themselves as being part of the global community.
A Global Citizen is someone who has respect for themselves and their community.
A Global Citizen acts to make the world a fairer place.

Respect
Rights and Responsibilities
Democracy
Diversity
Sustainability
Our Year 6 learners reflected on diversity by using first-hand accounts from our families together with internet research to put themselves in the shoes of immigrant children and express the emotional and practical impact of migration through poetry.
Our Year 5 learners used the inspiration of the Olympic Games to plan and deliver a multicultural opening ceremony for the school sports day.
Our Year 4 learners were challenged to raise £175.00 to fund a ‘school in a box’ for UNICEF. They researched people from history who had stood up for the rights of others and collated thebiographies in a magazine which they then sold.
Our Year 3 learners have explored how to be global citizens in the little actions of life. They have showed us how turning off the tap whilst we are cleaning our teeth can help to conserve water.
Our Year 2 learners planned and delivered a concert to enable the local community to celebrate the coming of Christmas.
Our Year 1 learners have explored the theme of identity by reflecting on the story of ‘Beegu’ who is new arrival and is different to the rest of the community.
Our Reception learners have explored the theme of their place within the family and produced unique pictures celebrating their talents.
