Governors

The purpose of the Governing Body is to help the school provide the best possible education for each of its pupils, and to enable them to reach the highest standards of achievement.

Governors work as a team of equals and not as individuals. A great deal of the work is done through two committees. One is the learning committee which looks carefully at every aspect of the curriculum and what is needed to deliver the best possible learning opportunities to our whole school community. The other is the resources committee which monitors finance to ensure the school delivers good value for money and also deals with personnel and environment issues. These committees meet each half term, as does the whole governing body.

The role of the governor is often described as “critical friend”.In order that governors can fulfil that role they will get to know the school well and undergo regular training.
