Open Door

 

At King's Park Primary we operate an open door policy.  This means that we encourage parents/ carers to come and talk with us about any issues or concerns that may arise. 

 

We also like to know when things are going well for you and your child!

 

Who can you speak with?

 

Your child's class teacher is the first person to meet with, especially if you have questions about learning or homework.

 

Mrs. Phillips, Pupil and Parent Support Worker, is available to discuss issues such as welfare and attendance.

 

Mrs. Driscoll, Parent Support Worker, is also available and can support you to access local services for support, after school clubs, and so on.

 

The Headteacher, Mrs. Bunting, and the Deputy Headteacher, Miss Manson are available to talk through any issues that concern you about your child.

 

When can you speak with someone?

 

Unless it is urgent, please speak with your class teacher at the end of the school day rather than the beginning.  We like to make a prompt start to learning.

 

If you have an urgent message for your child's teacher please either:

 

Write a note for your child to give to the teacher

Speak to the member of staff on duty on the door and ask them to pass the message on for you.

Speak to a member of the office team and ask them to pass on the message for you.

 

If you would like to speak with a member of staff for more than a few minutes please make an appointment.  We aim to meet with parents/ carers as soon as possible after the request is made.

 

How can you make contact?

 

Our front office is staffed from 8.00am to 4.00pm.  Contact can be made either in person or by telephone.

 

We are a rights respecting school and we ask that all

communications are warm and cordial even if

there is a difficult situation to resolve.
