Peer Mediators

At King's Park we believe that with the right training, children can help each other to sort out disagreements.  These children are known as Peer Mediators and can be spotted in school by their smart golden ties.

Children complete an application form to be considered for the role and are then trained by Mrs. Fry and Mrs. Berkhauer in the skills that they will need.

Each playtime two Peer mediators are on duty in the playground and help resolve minor disagreements between children.

We use the restorative approach when resolving difficulties and adopt the following questions if things go wrong:

What happened?

Who was affected?

How were you feeling?

What were you thinking?

What needs to happen to put things right?

Our current peer mediators are:

4FG Chloe, Rebecca, Sinead

4HP Chloe, Keilie, Reece, Sian, Muskan

5DM Celine, Hayden, Olivia

5JB Tyler, Alfie, Gozim, Ollie, Taryn

6JS Matthew
