Rights' Leaders
In March 2009 we established a group of children who act as Rights' Leaders within the school. Their role is to teach others about rights and responsibilities.

Our Rights' Leaders meet weekly to work together on a variety of projects.
Rights' Leaders Projects:
November 2011: Agreeing the action plan for Rights’ Leaders
October 2011: Presentation on nutritious food to the Duchess of Gloucester at King’s Park Nursery
July 2011: Interview and appoint new Rights' Leaders.
June 2011: Lead an assembly at Moordown St. John's on the theme of child labour with particular reference to Article 13: Children have the right to get and to share information.
March 2011: Attend Bournemouth Cluster training at Bourne Academy and lead a workshop on setting up class charters
January 2011: Plan and deliver assemblies in King’s Park about being a level 2 rights respecting school. Host a visit from Moordown St. John’s students and staff.
December 2010 Host a visit from students and staff from Sketty Primary School in Swansea.
October 2010 Host the visit from UNICEF, assessing the school for Level 2 status.
May 2010: Design a new procedure for choosing Rights' Leaders. Interview candidates and make the difficult decision as to who to select.
February 2010: Design a questionnaire to find out what the children at King's Park Primary know and understand about rights and responsibilities.
December 2009: Write a Rights Respecting Quiz for each Key stage in the school - test yourself out in the quiz section of this website!
November 2009: Plan and lead an assembly for Pokesdown Primary School on the subject of Rights and Responsibilities.
September 2009: Design and make posters for the school to illustrate the school charter.
May 2009: Plan and lead an interactive training event for parents on the subject of Rights and Responsibilities.
March 2009: Presentation to Bournemouth Headteachers at a borough training event for Rights Respecting Schools
