Half Termly Home Learning Projects - OCTOBER 2010

A BIOGRAPHY

Your task is to write a biography about the important historical figure that you chose during your ICT session.

You may use information from books and the internet to help you, but you must write in your own words, not copy.

Use your knowledge of the features of a biography to set your work out correctly, and then check that you have written your biography correctly by using the “Features of Biography” support sheet.

You may write your biography by hand, or do it on a computer.

PLEASE HAND IN YOUR WORK ON TUESDAY 2ND NOVEMBER

2009 Project

As part of our 'Learning at the speed of Light' project, Year 6 were challenged to improve their investigation techniques and explanations. The reward for achieving this challenge was a visit to the INTECH science museum in Winchester, where the children were able to practically investigate all areas of the science curriculum.

Our project, 'It's All Greek to Me', began with the discovery of Ancient Greek pottery outside the school on Ashley road. The children then decided that they would like to find out more about the Greeks, and set up their own exhibition, displaying their findings. During the project, we also visited the Russell Cotes museum in Bournemouth, where the children were given guidance on how to set out their own exhibition.
